In 2015, we took a major step in our evolution when we partnered with the Zuni Tribe, ArtPlace America, and a team of Zuni artists to integrate Zuni art and culture into the planning, design, and building phases of a community park space. This collaborative work became Ho’n A:wan Park (“Belonging to all of us”), a 2.5 -acre complex that includes a community center, turf field, walking trail, community garden, basketball court, and art that celebrates the spirit of Zuni. Ho’n A:wan Park is located near Zuni’s main village and is an easily accessible hub for community art, physical activity, nutrition, cultural connection and family fun throughout the year.
